Diaphanous – \ dy-AF-uh-nuhs \  , adjective;  1. Of such fine texture as to allow light to pass through; translucent or transparent.  2. Vague; insubstantial.

I leaned forward and gazed into his eyes, passed the deep blue and the soft flecks of silver, in an attempt to decode his diaphanous expressions of love.
